Spring Break will be here soon!

We will NOT have lunch visitors on Friday, April 3rd.
Let's all wear BLUE on Thursday for our sweet friends with Autism 💙

The Glow Gallery had its last visitors for the year on Friday. We love this Art tradition!

Congratulations!

Students of the Week for Positive Behaviors

Mrs. Sherry was so proud of Ellie that she invited her to come show off her hard work for Mrs. Terry and Mrs. Bevil in the office—and she did an amazing job!

Fourth Grade Exercise Challenge 💪

Fourth grader, Kasen Grief, earned the opportunity to be a P.E. Assistant on Friday.

Wally the Wise Guy visited on Friday to remind our students how to stay safe in the event of a chemical release. It was impressive to hear how much they could recall from his visit in the Fall.

If you’re a kindergarten parent, we hope you’ve had a chance to talk with your child about their learning this week—because you’re going to be impressed!
Our kindergarten students have been diving into learning about our country through the Wonders curriculum, and wow—Mrs. Terry was so impressed that she invited Mrs. Blair (5th grade Social Studies teacher) to come see their work, too!
Students can share about the Liberty Bell, the Statue of Liberty, the Supreme Court, and the three special gifts given to our nation as America was formed. They even wrote thank-you cards to France, China, and Japan to show their appreciation for those gifts.
Mrs. Terry had the opportunity to read a few of the letters, and they were truly impressive. We are so proud of our young learners! 🇺🇸✨

📚✨ Big growth happening in our 3rd grade classrooms! ✨📚
Our students are digging into learning during small reading groups, where instruction is targeted, intentional and just right for what they need. In these groups, students are building fluency, strengthening comprehension and growing their confidence as readers every single day.
You’ll see teachers guiding discussions, asking thoughtful questions and helping students make meaning from what they read—all while students are actively engaged and supporting one another.
This is where the magic happens… small groups, big impact. 💚 And, every once in a while one of those groups gets to meet with Mrs. Terry in her office.

Two of our own were recognized tonight as top educators in our region.
Shelby Oakley - Distinguished Faculty Award in grades K-2
Ashli Gore - Distinguished Faculty Award in grades 3-5
We are thankful for how these ladies impact our students and staff every single day.

PTO has a fun night planned when we return from Spring Break!

Third graders were working this afternoon to connect fact families using multiplication and division.

At Sharpe Elementary, our classrooms are full of powerful literacy learning every single day!
Our students are building strong phonics skills by learning how letters and sounds work together. You might see students tapping out sounds, blending words or practicing spelling patterns that help them become confident readers and writers.
We are also growing vocabulary by introducing rich, meaningful words through reading, conversation and explicit instruction. Students are not only learning new words—they’re learning how to use them in speaking and writing to express their thinking clearly.
Most importantly, our students are engaged in reading every day. Through shared reading, small groups and independent practice, they are learning to think deeply about texts—making connections, asking questions and understanding what they read at a deeper level.
At Sharpe, we are building readers who don’t just read words…they understand, think and grow.

Some days, our Green Ambassadors have to work a little harder to get those kindergartners to class on time.
