The Jonathan Elementary Gymnasium was dedicated in honor of Mr. Carl Darnall during a ceremony at the school this morning.
During his many years in the Marshall County School District, Darnall served as a teacher, coach and principal. More than a decade was spent at Jonathan Elementary, where he helped shape the education, experiences, and lives of JES students. He retired in 1999.
JES principal Lyndsie Dempsey welcomed Darnall and his family and friends to the dedication today and said his commitment to children and education remained at the heart of everything he did. You can read her full comments at the link below:
In 2024, the Marshall County Board of Education approved naming the gymnasium in his honor and we are so proud to now officially recognize Mr. Darnall's years of dedication, leadership, and service.
