Marshall County High School is proud to announce the hiring of Lyndon Dunning as the new head coach of the girls’ basketball program. A proven leader with a strong track record of success, Dunning brings experience, discipline, and a commitment to student-athlete development both on and off the court.
Coach Dunning has compiled an impressive career record of 106-43 over his coaching tenure, demonstrating consistent excellence and the ability to build competitive, well-rounded teams. His programs have been known for their defensive intensity, teamwork, and strong fundamentals.
“We are excited to welcome Coach Dunning to Marshall County,” said MCHS Principal Evan Merrick. “His leadership style, basketball knowledge, and dedication to developing student athletes make him a perfect fit for our school and community.”
Throughout his career, Dunning has guided multiple teams to district and regional success, while also emphasizing academic achievement and character development. He is widely respected for his ability to connect with players and foster a culture of accountability and growth.
“I’m honored to join Marshall County High School and become part of this proud tradition,” said Dunning. “I look forward to working with our student-athletes, building strong relationships, and competing at a high level. Our goal is to represent this community with pride and integrity every time we step on the court.”
MCHS will host a meet and greet with Coach Dunning on Thursday April 30th at 5:00pm in the cafeteria.
