Marshall County Schools is pleased to announce that Amanda Melton has been chosen as the next principal of Calvert City Elementary School.
Melton is a native of Murray and earned all three of her degrees from Murray State University, including a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, a master’s degree in reading and writing, and a second master’s degree in educational administration.
Melton began her career in Christian County, where she served as a teacher, curriculum specialist, and assistant principal. Most recently, she has worked with the Kentucky Department of Education as a state literacy coaching specialist, supporting schools to strengthen instruction and improve student outcomes.
“I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as principal of Calvert City Elementary School,” said Melton. “I am excited to be part of such a strong and supportive community and to continue the great work already happening in the school. I look forward to building relationships with students, staff, and families, and to being actively involved in all aspects of school life as we continue to support student success together.”
Melton will take over as Calvert City Elementary School principal on July 1st.
