Marshall County Schools and Marshals Athletics is announcing Kris Ray as the MCHS Boys Soccer Coach.

Ray is no stranger to Marshall County Soccer, as he was a member of two MCHS Final 4 teams, three regional championships, and four district championships.
Following high school, Ray served on the first staff of the Lady Marshal soccer program, coaching junior varsity with Coach Stacey Bradley for the 1993 and 1994 seasons.
Ray has either coached or been on the development side of soccer for the last 30 years. Most recently, Ray has been the technical director for the Apex Soccer Academy in Des Moines, IA. He has coached at the high school and club level, worked in player development, and overseen camps for the Portland Thorns and Timbers of the MLS and NWSL.
Ray has had former players and trainees play major NCAA Division 1 soccer and professionally in the MLS.
Soccer runs in the Ray family. Kris’s brother, Marshall, is a member of the Marshall County Athletics Hall of Fame and coached collegiately at Duke and the University of Evansville.
Ray states that his goals are to “teach students that being successful is measured by one’s actions and the influence they have on others, and to instill the idea that attitude determines excellence."
