Longtime Marshall County School Board Attorney Marty Johnson is stepping down.
On Thursday, the Board of Education approved Johnson's resignation and thanked him for his 50 years of service. In his resignation letter, the 84 year old Johnson said he has been privileged to have been of service to the finest school administrators and Board members during his many years as board attorney.
The school board has called a special meeting for December 29th at 4 pm to appoint an interim board attorney. The search would then begin for a permanent replacement.
