This week alone, six Marshall County High School students signed letters to continue their athlete careers in college.

On Tuesday, Trinlee Anderson signed to play softball at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. Throughout her high school career, Trinlee has appeared in 89 games, starting 71, with 69 hits, 10 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs, 55 RBIs, 28 runs scored, and 8 stolen bases. She holds at .315 batting average. Trinlee's success is a reflection of her strong work ethic and commitment to improvement. In addition to her athletic achievements, Trinlee has excelled academically. She attended the Governor's Scholars Program and will graduate near the top of her class. Congratulations Trinlee on this major achievement.

Also Tuesday, Macy McLeod signed to play softball at Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Missouri.During her high school career, Macy played in 131 games, starting in 105 of them. She's recorded 96 hits, including 67 doubles, 6 triples, and 1 home run, while driving in 54 runs, scoring 82 times, and stealing 24 bases. Macy holds in impressive .318 batting average. Macy's speed, strong arm, and consistent play have made her a solid presence in the outfield. Her athleticism, combined with her competitive drive, makes her the kind of player every coach hopes to have on their team. Macy has devoted countless hours to the game, always working to improve. Mineral Area College is getting a special player and an even better person. Congratulation Macy!

Wednesday,  Kobey Yates signed to run Cross Country and Track and Field at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. Kobey has been an 8-year member of the Marshall County Track and Field and Cross Country programs, with 5 of those years being at the varsity level. Kobey specializes in distance events and currently holds records in the following events - 5K Run for Cross Country, Indoor 3000 Meters, Indoor 2 Mile, Outdoor 3200 Meters, Freshman 1600 Meters, and was part of the record-shattering 4 x 1600 Relay at last season's Twilight Relays. Kobey has been named to the Overall All Area Team in both cross country and track multiple times and was a member of last year's Regional Championhip team in Track and Field. He was also named Area 1 Runner of the Year and has been on the Area 1 team every year of high school in cross country and track. Kobey has also been named to the All-State Team in Cross Country for the past three seasons. Kobey has exhibited an extraordinary work ethic in all aspects of being a student athlete and we are excited that he will have the opportunity to continue his cross country and track career at Lipscomb University.

Thomas Bagby will continue his baseball career by signing with Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. Thomas has been an integral part of Marshall County baseball for the last three seasons and is an exemplary student-athlete. Bagby has compiled a 9-5 record, a career 2.43 ERA, with 140 strikeouts in 119 innings pitched... with more to come in the spring. We wish Thomas the best of luck at WKU and are confident that he will be a true asset to the WKU Hilltoppers baseball team.

Trinity Beth has signed to continue her academic and athletic career at the University of Georgia. A five-year letter winner and team leader for the Lady Marshals golf team, Trinity has built an impressive resume both on and off the course. She has earned numerous honors througout her career, including 28 high school tournament victories. These victories include 3 Region 1 Championships, 3 Sub-State Championships, 3 Kentucky Golf Coaches Association State Championships, and 2 KHSAA State Championships. Trinity also helped lead the Lady Marshals to back to back Team KHSAA State Championships in 2020 and 2021. Trinity also won the Title of Miss KY Golf a record 4 times, the most of any student athlete in any sport ever in Kentucky. Trinity is not only a phenomenal golfer but also an exceptional student. She maintains a GPA of 4.25 while taking dual credit and AP courses. Trinity is also thankful for the 2 years she has spent as a RISE peer tutor while at MCHS. We wish Trinity the best of luck at the University of Georgia.

And, Savannah Dodd signed to continue her soccer career at The University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky. Savannah was a part of two district and two regional championships for the Lady Marshals soccer team during her high school career. She was a five year member of the soccer team, where she was selected to the All-District team in 2024 and 2025, the All-Region 2nd team in 2024, the All-Region 1st team in 2025, and the all state honorable mention team in 2025. Savannah also made the state tournament team her junior year while helping the Lady Marshals to an Elite 8 finish. She recorded 29 shutouts in her career, which ties her for 2nd all time in program history. Savannah is a true student athlete as she has maintained above a 4.0 grade point average and has been a servant leader for the Lady Marshals throughout her high school career. We are excited that Savannah will have the opportunity to continue her playing career as a Patriot at The University of the Cumberlands.
