NMMS BETA Recognized

At Thursday night's Marshall County Board of Education meeting, the board welcomed the North Marshall Middle School BETA members, who talked about their accomplishments at the state BETA convention in January.  The NMMS showing at state has earned them a spot at the national BETA convention in Savannah, Georgia this summer.

Makayla Reid, Kallie Jarrett, Campbell Hill, and Caroline Munson told board members that over 30 NMMS students attended the state convention and competed in 22 competitions, placing in 9.  This included a 1st place finish in the Digital Portfolio category with Campbell Hill and Addi Hobbs creating a digital scrapbook that documented the club for 2023.  Ian Hughes also won 2nd place in Performing Arts Variety Act, performing "Until I Found Her" while playing his guitar.  NMMS BETA also finished 3rd in Performing Arts Small Group, Marketing and Communications, and 3 Dimensional Design.    And, the club came in 4th in Speech and Book Battle.

Marshall County School District Instructional Supervision Jackie Reid also recognized BETA sponsors Janae McCoy and Elizabeth Smith for their leadership and dedication to BETA.  (Smith was unable to attend)
