Science Day at Benton Elementary

Tuesday was Science Day at Benton Elementary! Thanks to the TVA School Uplift grant, in partnership with Benton Electric System, students in Mrs. Kathy Colvett's STEM classes have been studying energy and ways to conserve energy all year. To culminate that learning, the Kentucky Science Center out of Louisville visited Benton today. Along with "Captain Current" and the "Energy Vampire," students learned ways to save energy at school and home. Following the assembly, students visited science stations with volunteer teachers from Benton Electric System.

School Uplift is a year-long energy management training program that helps public schools make smart energy choices that improve the classroom learning environment and save money through decreased energy use.
