Sharpe Elementary Show Off STEM Grant Purchases

Sharpe Elementary's 4th Grade class is excited to use materials that arrived from STEM Grant purchases. The TVA STEM Classroom Grant Program, sponsored by the Tennessee Valley Authority in partnership with Bicentennial Volunteers Incorporated (BVI, a TVA retiree organization), is designed to fund STEM learning projects in classrooms and schools in the TVA service area.

The grant project, Will Roz the Wild Robot survive your biome?, was written by Sharpe Elementary 4th Grade teachers and Mrs. Gore connecting a Reading and Science unit based on a read-aloud of Peter Brown's chapter book, The Wild Robot. Students will use a variety of Magna-Tiles, Marble Runs, Mousetrap Car kits, and Snap Circuit kits to design and construct items to help Roz survive.

We are grateful for the opportunity to provide these hands-on opportunities through TVA's generosity and commitment to get students excited about science, technology, engineering and math. STEM learning opens a new world for students to consider in education and career paths.
