student and family at athletic signing

Reese Oakley signed today to play baseball at Murray State University. Going into his senior season, Reese has played in 65 games, while making an appearance on the mound in 25 of those games, bringing home seven wins and six loses. In just three years, Reese has accumulated 115 strikeouts over 97.1 innings. Reese's sophomore year was a breakout year for him as the #2 guy in the rotation, throwing 53.1 innings and striking out 58, while only walking 20. Finishing the year with a 2.49 ERA, Reese helped lead the Marshals to a district championship and the first regional runner-up in several years. As a junior, Reese averaged more than one strikeout per inning and remained an integral part of the pitching rotation.

Moving into the 2024 season, the team will be looking to Reese to continue being a chief player. During his time as a Marshal, Reese has been selected to the All-District team, All-Region team, has been named Biokinetics WPSD Athlete of the Week, and has been a major part of three district championships, one regional runner-up title and hopefully a regional title and a trip to Lexington in 2024. On top of all his athletic accomplishments and accolades, Reese has maintained a 3.41 GPA.

We are so proud of Reese for accomplishing his dream of playing Division 1 baseball for Murray State University.
