student and family at athletic signing

Aiden Dunigan signed today with Transylvania University where he will be a part of the school's Track and Field program. Transylvania is a member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (NCAA DIII). Aiden has competed at MCHS for four years and has been an asset to the Marshals as a sprinter, thrower, and jumper. Last season Aiden found his home in the jumps, securing First Team All Area 1 AAA honors in the Triple Jump, Long Jump, and High Jump.

"There is no better feeling than seeing a kid like Aiden make his move to the next level," commented Men's Head Coach Andrew Johnston. "Aiden embodies what track and field is all about. He is focused, determined, patient, accountable, and resilient. Aiden is a tireless worker and I know Transylvania will be better for adding him to their roster."

Last season, Aiden was able to score 10 points individually at the Regional Track Meet, earning top marks in the High Jump (5th), Triple Jump (4th), and Long Jump (4th). His performance in the Long and High Jump earned him a trip to the State Track Meet where he finished 21st and 19th. Aiden currently has 2 top 5 marks in his Freshman Record book for the jumps and looks to secure top marks in program history this year.

We are so proud of what Aiden has done at MCHS and what he will certainly do at Transylvania University.
