Principal's Message

Shannon Solomon

Hello South Marshall Middle School Families,

My name is Shannon Solomon, and I am the Principal of South Marshall Middle School.  I cannot tell you how excited we are to start a new school year, but in the “old way.”  In other words, we are looking forward to seeing our students’ smiling faces with no masks, hallways that are buzzing, and classrooms where students are interacting while learning.

The South Marshall Middle vision, “Home to Us; Example for Others”, is a daily reminder that we want our school to be a place where our students are excited to learn each day and feel safe, secure, and happy while here.  We offer a variety of academic and extracurricular activities so our students have a well-rounded education while keeping them engaged.  We strive to be an example of excellence for each other and our community.  South Middle has created a tradition of high expectations to ensure that students meet the goals set in front of them.  “It takes a village,” and we realize it is not the faculty and staff working alone that makes a difference with our students.  It is only when everyone is involved; families, community, students, teachers, and staff, all working together, that we can truly accomplish great things for our students. This in turn will ensure our students accomplish great things.

Please feel free to reach out to me personally or the school anytime you have questions.  We are here to support our families and our students.  Our school website and Facebook page are two ways to stay in touch with what is going on at South Marshall Middle School, so we encourage you to visit those often.

We are looking forward to an exciting school year!

Shannon Solomon, Principal
