Parents, please note that if your child misses a test, he or she must make that up after or before school!

 

WOW words (Word Of the Week)

plethora -an overabundance

animosity- a strong feeling of dislike

inept- foolish or not suitable

erroneous-containing errors

philanthropic-an act to help mankind

sporadic-not occuring in any pattern

trivial- not important

ominous- scary or foreboding

verbatim- word for word

motif- an artistically common theme

ruffian - a lawless, rowdy person

melancholy - sad or depressed

jovial - full of playful good humor

futile - serving no useful purpose

retort - to answer

placid - calm and quiet

sufficient - as much as needed

competent - capable or sufficient

pensive - involved in serious, quiet reflection

pertinent - relating to matter being discussed

indecisive - showing indecision

modest - shy; not boastful

pretentious - excessive outward display

dissipate - spread out or scatter

facetious - joking at the wrong time

remorse - deep regret for past misdeeds

bumfuzzle - to confuse

vicarious - taking the place of another

despondent - sad due to loss of hope

valiant - brave
