BMS received an art grant from the Pennyhawk-Kids In Need Foundation that supplied materials for a project based on American Sign Language.  Students chose a letter from the American Sign Language alphabet and created a mold of their symbol with dental alginate.  Plaster was then poured directly into the molds to create the cast.  Students incorporated personal symbols and colors into their sculpture.  This was a collaborative project between Mrs. Valera Brooks, who wrote the grant, and Ms. Kristen Chumbler, who taught the project.
