Dr. Jenny Stigers with the UK Mobile Dental Unit examines a student from Central Elementary.  Students with dental needs can be treated on the dental truck that will be at the school for a couple of months.

 

 

 

 

    

Dads enjoy a doughnut and milk with their child before school.  Dads and Doughnuts was held at Central Elementary September 22, 23, & 24.  It was at Benton Elementary September 29, 30, & October 1.

 

 

 

 

The students at the right were chosen for the Character Club for the month of September because they demonstrated "trustworthiness."  Each student received a certificate and a character bracelet.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The CARDIAC Project for 4th grade students is a screeing process to help parents identify any areas in which their child is at risk.  During the project students have their blood pressure taken, their cholesterol and blood glucose level tested, their height and weight taken, and they particpate in a fitness test.  Above, students at Benton Elementary are involved in the fitness test.  Below, students wait to get the results of the test.

Family Fun Day, the culminating event for Marshall County Family Week, was September 12, 2009.  Below students from various schools in the county particpate in the Snack Walk.

A Murray State University nursing student presents the KY     Cancer Program's Do Right, Don't Smoke material to 4th grade students at Benton Elementary.
